What does it take to create an organization with activities? Why, people of course!
Our Club - A Quick View
When the Fantastic Single Seniors (formerly Fantastic 50’s) launched in May 2000, our vision was simple: create fun, enriching social activities for senior singles. Since then, we’ve done it all— monthly socials, holiday parties, picnics, free concerts in the park, dance parties, card games, dining out, nature walks, and special interest groups like our theatre group, canasta club, and walking group..
What keeps our Club thriving? Club members planning and participating in events throughout the year. Events that are hosted by the Club, plus events that are hosted by members.
The Club plans and hosts events each month, such as our Monthly Socials at local community centers. The Socials are lively and interesting evenings, perfect for meeting new friends and enjoying varied activities like guest speakers, trivia, music and movie presentations, antique appraisals and many more. The Club also host big special events: the Annual Picnic in September, the December Holiday Party, the St. Patrick’s Day party in March, and the Anniversary Bash in May.
Four seasonal teams - Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter- rotate planning and hosting duties for socials and special events. The Teams develop fresh and engaging ideas, select venues, plan the food and entertainment programs, and host each event—welcoming members and managing the details.
In addition, many of our activities are hosted by individual members. These activities include dance parties, outdoor and holiday concerts, the halloween party, bowling outings, special presentations, movie matinees, dining events and more. Individual members also host our special-interest groups each month, including the Theatre Group, Canasta Club, Walking Club, and Book Club.
Our Club’s success is built on the spirit of participation. Whether you’re hosting an event, pitching in behind the scenes, or simply joining in, your involvement matters and makes our Club warm, welcoming, and full of life.
